A Good Day

I spent the morning in a village called Duck Run 1.  There is a Duck Run 2 and 3 also.  I was asked to be a judge at the local Reading Competition.  It turned out to be great fun.  I really had no idea what I was doing but the other judges helped me.  One of our students competed and did a great job but he didn't place.  It didn't seem to bother him too much.

This is Mrs. Terisita, she is the librarian at the
San Ignacio Library.

She is a hilarious story teller and had all of us laughing.

This is Mr. Ouk (pronounced Ook).  He is a teacher from Buena Vista.
Albert did his best but didn't place.  Each of the students received a prize.

First, second, and third place winners.  First place moves on to compete against
other districts.  The winner receives $300.00!
After the competition Mr. Ouk took us for ice cream at Western Dairy in Spanish Lookout.  We had a great time and great conversation.

Some of you may recall a conversation about the bungalow.  I had stated that all I cared about was having a place for a hammock and a washer and dryer.  I am happy to say the washer and dryer have been set up and I already washed two loads!  It is a difficult task here to get the laundry done.  If it rains a lot then you have to be creative on getting them dried because very few of us have dryers.  We had a clothesline tied on the bunk beds just before we moved over here.  Needless to say I am not going to complain about getting the washer and dryer installed today.  I just have to say that no matter what, it is worth it.
What comes to mind when you hear "Beverly Hillbillies"?
Hey, Beate said we could put it here.

Ya'll come back now ya hear!
This is only temporary!  That is what I am promised.  But, to be honest, I wouldn't care if it stayed on the front porch.  It is a precious jewel to me!  Besides, maybe this will be a way to get the back porch done quicker.

Just to let you know I don't have a hammock yet.

Love You Guys!
