Thoughts on Leaving Tennessee

The other day my son, Daniel and I were discussing our futures.  He is currently finishing his first year at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville.  Daniel is concerned, and rightly so, about how he will make it financially through the next three years.  Hmmmm, Daniel has concluded that he will need to get a job while going to college.  I'm sure before all this discussion of his mom and dad leaving for Belize Daniel wasn't thinking so much about getting a job.  He has been informed that all flow of monies will cease as of July of this year.   At first he was a little upset about the whole plan.  He feels like he is getting the short end of the stick.  Daniel stated, "Hey, I'm going to be poor."  I said that dad and I are going to be poor also.  Then quite honestly, Daniel says, "Yea, but you guys are OK with that."

The changes have already begun.  Dennis is almost done fixing all the many things that were wrong with the 1985 Bronco II that we are bringing with us.  We just sold our 2009 Chevy Silverado.

I am starting to think about what to take and what to leave.  Apparently a 20x24 ft. home is not able to hold much.  The other day I was washing an angel food cake pan and was deciding if it will be coming with us... I'm pretty sure I can live without it.  Priorities are made clear when your space is reduced this drastically.

In the end, Dennis and I are still very excited to be on our way this summer.  We know that even if all our little concerns and plans are in God's hands.  And since we are trusting him we sleep just fine at night.

Thank you Lord for all you are doing in Dennis and I.  Thank you also for what is going on in the hearts of our children!!
